Privacy
Bap·Bap is anonymous by design. There are no accounts, and nothing that identifies you is collected.
The app
- No user accounts. There's nothing to sign up for, so nothing the app does can be tied to you.
- Nothing identifying is collected. No analytics, no crash reports that leave your phone, no device or advertising identifiers.
- Your location stays on your phone. It's read only while the app is open, to find the closest stops, and is never sent anywhere.
- Favourites and settings stay on your phone, in your phone's own backup if you have that turned on.
What the app connects to
- The daily timetable check asks our server whether there's a new timetable. It sends nothing about you or your phone, and the server keeps no record of the request.
- Map tiles (Apple Maps on iPhone, OpenFreeMap on Android) are loaded only while the map is showing. The map provider sees which area was shown, as any website would, not who you are.
Nothing else talks to a server. Nothing is shared with anyone else.
This website
- We count visits with Fathom Analytics. It uses no cookies and doesn't store anything that identifies you; we see totals, such as how many people read a page.
- Fonts and images come from bapbap.app itself. Nothing else is loaded from other sites.
- The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps its own logs of requests to the site, including IP addresses. We don't use them.
- There are no forms, accounts or mailing lists.
If you write to hello@bapbap.app, or use Send feedback in the app, your message is an ordinary email. The app fills in its version, your phone's system version and model, and the timetable version, and you can delete any of it before sending. We use what you send only to reply and to fix problems.
